I found this recipe many years ago and it has been a family favorite ever since.

My family and friends often request it for get togethers, and it is always devoured up quickly.

It is SO easy, you won’t believe it, so I want to share the best buttermilk pie recipe with you

ingredients for buttermilk pie

pie crust (I use store bought)

1/4 cup flour

1/2 cup melted butter

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 eggs

directions

Combine all ingredients in a mixer bowl. Beat until smooth. Pour into the prepared pie crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

And that’s it!!! The easiest and most delicious pie you’ll ever eat!!

tips for this pie

One tip for this pie is DON’T overcook. If you take the pie out of the oven after 1 hour and it is still jiggly in the center, that’s ok. Every time, I have left it longer, it seems overcooked.

Also, if it seems to start getting too brown on the top before the baking time is up, I just lay a piece of foil over the top. This way, the pie continues to cook, but the top won’t get too brown.

My favorite way to serve this pie, is warm and with strawberries on top. I just slice up the pie, plate it, and add a few sliced strawberries right before you serve it.

It truly is delicious, and your guests will think you have slaved all day making this pie!

Ssshh, I won’t tell, if you don’t!!

happy baking,

michele

Pin it to remember it!!
