This salad is all about letting the oranges shine, but it’s got a few other key ingredients that make it pop:

  • Oranges: Bitter oranges are traditional, but you can use regular sweet oranges or mix in a few blood oranges for extra colour.
  • Olive Oil: A good drizzle of extra virgin olive oil gives it richness. Make sure you're using good, quality extra virgin olive oil, not oil blend impersonators.
  • Chilli: A sprinkle of some good chilli flakes will add that extra kick to elevate this dish even further.
  • Sea Salt: Hardly needs any explanation.
  • Fresh Herbs: Parsley or mint adds a burst of freshness. Basil works great, too.

There are so many ways to enjoy neratzosalata:

  • As a Side Dish: It’s great alongside grilled chicken, fish, or roasted vegetables.
  • As a Starter: Serve it before a meal to wake up your taste buds.
  • For Lunch: Add some greens and a little crumbled feta cheese to make it more filling.

If you’re looking for a salad that’s easy, fresh, and full of flavor, give neratzosalata a try. It’s a simple way to bring a little taste of Greece to your table. Whether you’re making it for a dinner party or just a regular weekday meal, it’s a dish that’s sure to brighten your day.

Enjoy! Or as they say in Greece, Kali orexi! (Bon appétit!)
