This whipped feta dip was a new recipe for me this month when I was hosting a dinner for friends. I wanted to serve a spread of dips as part of the mezze meal and thought I would try this alongside the hummus. It went down very well with everyone - and I was so amazed how easy it was to make!

This dip pairs well with fresh vegetables, pita bread, or crackers. For extra flavor, you can blend in a small amount of roasted red peppers or sun-dried tomatoes.

You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (such as dill, parsley, or mint)
  • Extra-virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of heat
Instructions

In a food processor, combine the crumbled feta cheese. Pulse a few times to break it down.
Add the Greek yogurt, extra-virgin olive oil, lemon juice, and minced garlic to the food processor. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as necessary.
If using, add the honey to the mixture and blend again. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and blend briefly to combine.
If the dip is too thick, you can add a little more olive oil or a splash of water to reach your desired consistency. Blend until well incorporated.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil and garnish with fresh herbs and crushed red pepper flakes, if desired.
