Ingredients for pastel Easter chocolate bark including chocolate candy melts, vanilla candy melts, pink, blue, and yellow food coloring, pastel M&M’s, bunny graham crackers, and Easter sprinkles.
  • Chocolate candy melts: Milk chocolate or dark chocolate work too.
  • Vanilla candy melts: This is the base for the colorful swirls. Feel free to use white chocolate chips instead.
  • Oil-based food coloring: It tints without seizing the chocolate. You can also use gel food coloring.
  • Pastel Easter M&M’s: These are a seasonal variety you can find at most grocery stores.
  • Bunny graham crackers: Any graham cracker or cookie crumbs work.
  • Easter-themed sprinkles: They add crunch and lovely pops of color. Sometimes I'll use regular sprinkles in my favorite pastel colors instead.

How to Make Pastel Easter Chocolate Bark

This M&M's Easter chocolate bark is a quick, melt-and-swirl recipe! It's ready to eat in 35 minutes.

Melting chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth, with bowl placed over warm water bath.
  1. Step 1: Melt the chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Keep the bowl over a warm water bath to maintain a fluid consistency while you melt the vanilla candy melts.
Melting vanilla candy melts in a separate microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.

2. Step 2: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the vanilla candy melts in 20-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth.

Dividing melted vanilla candy melts into three bowls and adding pink, pastel blue, and pastel yellow food coloring.

3. Step 3: Divide the melted vanilla candy melts into three small bowls and tint with pink, pastel blue, and pastel yellow food coloring, stirring until evenly mixed.

Pouring melted chocolate candy melts onto a baking sheet and swirling pastel colored vanilla candy melts on top for a marbled effect.

4. Step 4: Pour the melted chocolate candy melts onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly to about ¼-inch thickness. Drop small spoonfuls of each colored vanilla candy melt over the chocolate base and gently swirl with a toothpick or skewer to create a marbled effect.

Sprinkling pastel M&M’s, bunny graham crackers, and Easter-themed sprinkles over the marbled chocolate bark.

5. Step 5: Sprinkle pastel Easter M&M’s, bunny graham crackers, and Easter-themed sprinkles evenly over the top, pressing lightly so they stick. Let the bark set completely at room temperature, or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes until firm.

Variations

This tri-color bark with seasonal candy is the Easter version of my favorite bark! Try these yummy twists depending on what you've got at home:

White base: For milkier bark, swap the chocolate candy melts for white chocolate chips. Melt those as the base layer of your bark. It's super cute!

Swap the candy: Mini marshmallows, mini chocolate eggs, and pastel-colored jelly beans are great substitutes for Easter M&M's.

Change the colors: Sometimes we run out of certain food coloring shades, so I alternate colors with pastel green or pastel purple when needed.

More candy: Add 2-3 tablespoons of any of the above mentioned candy if you like your bark packed with goodies.

Go nuts: Sprinkling with ¼ cup chopped macadamias or sliced almonds adds great flavor and texture.

Top Tips for Pastel Easter Chocolate Bark

These simple tips and tricks will make this adorable Easter bark with graham crackers perfect every single time:

Create your own patterns: You can totally play with the swirl by adding more pink, more blue, or whatever you like! It doesn’t have to be perfect and feel free to create your own beautiful patterns.

Swirl gently: Don't over-swirl, otherwise the colors can blend together and it looks gray or even brown sometimes.

Extra glossy: Melt the candy melts with ½ teaspoon coconut oil for an extra glossy look once the chocolate sets.

Add more colors: If you divide the melted vanilla candy melts into 4 bowls instead of 3, you can incorporate an additonal color like pastel purple or pastel green.

Watch the double boiler: When keeping the melted chocolate melts warm, make sure the bottom of your bowl doesn't touch the water in the double boiler. If it touches the water, the chocolate can seize.

Make it sparkly: My daughter loves sprinkling the top of the bark with ¼-1/2 teaspoon edible silver or gold glitter before pressing the toppings in.
