Variations

This is the Easter version of my favorite s’mores dip, but it’s a fun dessert to customize for year-round gatherings! Try these yummy twists for more s'mores goodness:

Swap the chocolate: Use milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chocolate depending on your preference.

Easter bunny dip: Once out of the oven, snuggle mini chocolate eggs in between the Bunny Peeps for an Easter bunny vibe.

Change the dippers: Swap the graham crackers for pretzel rods or biscotti for a crunchy combo.

Keep it classic: I'm a Peeps fan, but you canuse regular mini marshmallows instead of Peeps for the simple, s’mores dip everyone knows and loves.

Valentine’s dip: Use Valentine’s themed heart marshmallows instead of Peeps for a love-inspired dip.

Storage Tips

This coconut-sprinkled Easter dessert dip is best fresh and warm, but here’s how to store leftovers for later:

Top Tips for Easter Peeps S’mores Dip

These simple tips and tricks will make your chocolatey dip with colorful Peeps perfect every single time:

Use the middle rack: The bottom rack will burn the chocolate chips before the marshmallow Peeps puff up, while the top rack will burn the marshmallows before the chocolate melts. Stick to the center rack, where there is even heat distribution, for best results.

Dry the baking dish: Make sure the baking dish or skillet is completely dry before baking. If there is even a droplet of water on it, the chocolate will seize because moisture makes melted chocolate separate.

Use leftovers: Sometimes I have different kinds of chocolate chips lying around. I like to mix them up and use them to make this easy dip!

Prep ahead: You can prep everything in the baking dish up to 3 days in advance, but bake it just before serving to get that perfect puffed texture.

Smaller serving: I like to halve the recipe on weeknights for an easy treat when it’s just my husband, my daughter, and I who will be digging in. The cooking time remains the same, but you’ll need a smaller baking dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shredded unsweetened coconut optional
  • 18-20 Easter Peeps marshmallows depending on your baking dish size
  • Graham crackers for serving (about 2 squares per serving)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325°F and place the rack in the middle position to prevent the Peeps from browning too quickly.
Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips to a small oven-safe 8-inch skillet or 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch oven-safe baking dish and spread them into an even layer.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of shredded coconut evenly over the chocolate.
Arrange the 18 Peeps marshmallows over the chocolate, placing them close together in a single layer.
Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely melted and the Peeps have puffed up and turned lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and serve immediately while warm, along with graham crackers for dipping.
Tips
  • 1. This works in an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish, or an 8–10-inch cast-iron skillet if you want to serve it straight from the skillet.
  • 2. Keep it on the middle rack so the Peeps puff up perfectly without burning.
  • 3. Semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips both work, or try a mix if you want a little extra sweetness.
  • 4. Scoop immediately with graham crackers while warm for gooey, melty s’mores perfection.
  • 5. You can prep everything in the dish, but bake it just before serving to get that perfect puffed texture.
  • 6. Top with mini Easter candies or a drizzle of white chocolate for a festive look.
  • 7. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day. Reheat briefly in the oven before serving for best texture.
