Puff Pastry Pizza
Looking for a quick and delicious way to make pizza at home without going through the hassle of mixing and rolling out dough.
Pizza made on a sheet of puff pastry is not only fast, it’s extremely tasty and puts a whole different twist on homemade pizza. The puff pastry dough is light, flaky and airy making this pizza feel a little more sophisticated.
You can make these pizzas as one whole pizza, or cut the puff pastry into smaller squares and make pizza bites. Either way everyone is sure to enjoy this new take on pizza, and with the endless combinations of toppings you can create different variations each time.
Read below for a simple step by step guide on how to make a puff pastry pizza.
Before you begin this recipe ensure that you have thawed the puff pastry according to the package directions.
Preheat the oven to 425.
While the oven is preheating carefully roll out the puff pastry onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Add a thin layer of pizza sauce to the puff pastry. Since this “crust” is quite delicate avoid adding anything to heavily or toppings with a lot of moisture such as fresh tomatoes or pineapple.
Sprinkle an even layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
This is where you can get creative with your toppings. Today I was making these for my kids and they requested plain pepperoni. Luckily I also really enjoy a classic plain pepperoni pizza.
Bake at 425 for about 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden and flaky.
Let the pizza sit for a few minutes before cutting and serving.
Enjoy!
