Garlic Mashed Potatoes Made in a Slow Cooker

These slow cooker garlic mashed potatoes are the ultimate make-ahead side dish. Set the ingredients in slow cooker in the morning and forget about them until supper time. No more messing around with big pots of boiling water. Slow cooker mashed potatoes are made with small yellow or red potatoes, skim milk, garlic and dried rosemary. This is a great dish to serve to your family for a weeknight meal or at your next dinner party.
Ingredients you may need to make slow cooker garlic mashed potatoes:
- Small potatoes
- Garlic
- Dried rosemary
- Skim milk
- Butter or margarine.
- Crock pot or slow cooker
- Potato masher
- Salt and pepper
- Shredded cheese
Making slow cooker mashed potatoes couldn’t be easier. Simply wash and peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks.
Next, place them in the slow cooker with the milk, garlic and dried rosemary. Turn the slow cooker on low and forget about it for 3-4 hours. If you need them cooked faster you can set it to high for 2 hours. Chop the potatoes smaller for faster cooking.
. Once the potatoes feel soft mash them directly in the slow cooker. Serve your potatoes with sour cream, shredded cheese, bacon bits, extra butter and green onion. Add any extra toppings you like!

- 2.5 pounds potatoes peeled and chopped
- 1 tbsp garlic minced
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp rosemary dried
Mashing ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tbsp garlic minced
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Peel and chop potatoes and place into slow cooker
- Add milk, garlic, rosemary
- Set slow cooker on low heat and cook for 3-4 hours
- Add more milk, garlic and butter and mash directly in the slow cooker
- Serve with toppings of your choice
Tips
- Use red or yellow potatoes.
- Butter can be substituted for margarine.
