10 Tenders
45 min
There is so much you can do with chicken but I have to say, one of my favourite preparations has to be fried chicken. This Homemade Chicken Tender recipe is fairly easy to make and it is also very flavorful. In this recipe there are many different levels of seasoning and the addition of marination, really adds even more flavour and juiciness to these Chicken Tenders.
You can eat these Homemade Chicken Tenders with some honey mustard sauce, some ketchup or even eat it plain. Also, if you like it spicy, no one is stopping you from coating it in some nice hot sauce.
This recipe has 3 different steps to breading and the panko at the end will make the Chicken Tenders as crispy as they can get!

Crispy & Juicy Fried Chicken
Recipe details
Ingredients
Marinate
- 500g Chicken Tenders
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 2 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tbsp Thyme, fresh
- 2 cloves Garlic
Breading
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 2 pcs Eggs
- 2 cups Panko
Instructions
Marinate
- In a medium size bowl, add the chicken and all the marinate ingredients.
- Mix it all together really well, making sure every piece of chicken is covered.
- Cover the bowl and leave it in the fridge overnight.
- When you're ready to fry the chicken, get three bowls and put the flour, panko, eggs (whisked) into separate bowls. Add paprika to taste with the flour.
- Take the chicken out of the fridge. Get each tender individually, remove it from the marinate and remove any excess. Cover it with flour first, then eggs and lastly panko. Repeat the process with all the pieces.
- Once they're all done, in a medium pot over medium-high heat, heat up about 1 Litre of Oil. Once the oil is hot, start to add the chicken tenders. Cook it until the inside is fully cooked and the outside is crispy and golden brown.
- Serve it with fries, a honey mustard sauce or whatever you'd prefer.
Tips
- Make sure to remove any excess marinate from the tender before breading it.
- Press the chicken tender a little when breading it so the flour and panko really stick to it.
- Don't over crowd the oil pot with all the chicken. Only fry a little at a time otherwise the oil temperature will drop too drastically.

Could you air fry these?
Just curious why the tenders in the pictures are more "orange" colored than the ones in the video that are actually fried ...
