- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 cups confectioners sugar
Cinnamon Sugar Topping
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tsp. ground cinnamon

Instructions
Donut Instructions
- Open tube of biscuits
- Lightly flour a cutting board and a small circular cookie cutter
- Place the biscuits onto the board, keep space between
- Using the floured cookie cutter, cut a hole in the center of each biscuit
- Keep the circles to make donut holes
- If making jelly-filled, don't cut the center whole
To Fry In Oil
- Place two inches of vegetable oil into a large fry pan
- Heat pan to 350 degrees using a candy thermometer to check correct temperature
- Carefully place each biscuit into the hot oil making sure there is space between each donut
- Once the donuts have become golden on one side, carefully flip them to the other side to brown.
- Once both sides are golden brown, carefully remove them from the oil and place the donuts onto a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb the oil.
To Fry In Air Fryer
- Set the temperature to 350 degrees
- There are many different models of air fryers on the market so follow the manufacturer's instructions on how to place the donuts into the fryer
- Allow donuts to fry for a total of 6 minutes, turning after 3 minutes if necessary.
Basic Donut Glaze
- Place whole milk and vanilla into a small sauce pan
- Place over medium heat
- Add a small amount of sifted confections sugar to the milk and vanilla, mixing after each addition of sugar
- Once the two cups are mixed in, remove from heat
- To keep the glaze from hardening, place the sauce pan in a shallow bowl of warm water.
- Dip each donut into the glaze. Allow the excess to drip off before placing them on a plate to dry.
- If desired, add sprinkles while the glaze is still wet.
For Chocolate Glaze
- Add milk and vanilla to a small sauce pan
- Over medium heat, add butter continually stirring
- Once butter is melted, add chocolate and continue to stir
- Once the chocolate is melted and mixed well, add small a small amount of confectioners sugar, mixing after each addition of sugar
- Once the two cups of sugar are mixed in, remove from heat
- To keep the glaze from hardening, place the sauce pan into a shallow bowl of warm water.
- Dip each donut into the glaze. Allow the excess to drip off before placing them on a plate to dry.
- If desired, add sprinkles while the glaze is still wet.
Cinnamon Sugar
- In a bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar together.
- Dip the donut into the mixture
Jelly Filled
- Using a pastry bag with a large open tip, fill the bag with preserves.
- Push the tip into the side of the donut
- Carefully squeeze the pastry bag to fill the donut
- If desired, sprinkle with confectioners sugar
Tips
- For the glazes, use whole milk. Any other type of milk won't give you the correct consistency.
- The only difference between the oil fried and air fried donuts was the air fried were more like biscuits where the oil fried were more like traditional donuts. Either way, they were both yummy!

My mom made these for us years ago. She used the small cans of biscuits since the big ones weren't around yet. The glaze doesn't need to be done on the stove either. Just mix it up in a bowl. Less work and does the same thing
