Crockpot Chicken Marinara

If you are craving Italian and are looking for an easy way to satisfy the craving, you have got to try this crockpot Chicken Marinara. It is so easy and delicious, you will want to make it part of your weekly dinner rotation.


It requires minimal preparation, and is a set it and forget it kind of meal making it a perfect meal for busy week nights.

Start by topping the chicken with feta cheese helps to create more flavor and a creamier texture to the sauce. You can use your creativity and try substituting feta with mozzarella or Parmesan as well.

Top the chicken with a jar (about 3 cups) of tomato sauce and set to cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours.

Shred the chicken and add back to the crock pot. Stir to combine all ingredients and to create a creamy, savory sauce.

Serve the chicken over pasta or spaghetti squash for a low carb option, and with steamed vegetables or a salad on the side.

Ingredients

  • 3 large boneless, skinless chicken beasts
  • 4oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1, 16oz jar marinara sauce (I used Roa’s)
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
Instructions

Spray crockpot with nonstick cooking spray
Place chicken breast in crock pot and season with Italian seasoning, garlic salt and pepper
Top chicken breasts with feta cheese and then pour marinara sauce over the chicken
Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours
Shred chicken and return to crock pot
Stir everything to combine
Serve over pasta or spaghetti squash for a low carb option
Tips
  • Stir leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

    This sounds extremely yummy, but holy cow!! Between the 1721calories, 1236mg sodium, 35g saturated fat alone the fact of this nutritional is based on an individual serving is insane!! You're going to keel over dead of a coronary heart attack!! I'm sorry but my own health I'm passing on this. There's GOT to be a healthier way to make this

      I think these numbers are for the whole meal not individual servings so divide by 6
