I am a huge fan of from scratch homemade baked goods, but every once in a while It's nice to have a few "shortcut" recipes on hand for those times when you need to whip up something in a pinch.

My Orange Blueberry Cinnamon bake is something that I make quite often when I'm hosing last minute, and in fact I have had many requests to make it again multiple times.

Although the base for this recipe is a can of premade Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, the end result tastes nothing like it came out of a can, and my guest are shocked when I tell them that yes in fact it did!

The fresh blueberries and tangy citrus add a lovely, light flavour to an otherwise heavy and decadent dish.

Read below to find out how you can upgrade a basic can of Cinnamon Rolls into a gourmet masterpiece!

Preheat oven to 350.

Begin by carefully popping open a can of Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls.

Cut each Cinnamon roll into quarters and place them into a well greased 9" pie dish. You do not need to be precise with the placement of the dough, just make sure it is evenly distributed.

Add about 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries to the top of the dough, again making sure they are spread out evenly across the dish. If you do not like blueberries, fresh raspberries work equally well.

Avoid frozen berries as they will be too liquid and will result in a soggy desert.

Bake in the oven until the dough in the middle is thoroughly cooked, about 25–30 minutes.

Let the dish cool slightly. At this time you can make the orange "glaze".

Add the zest of one orange plus one tablespoon of orange juice to the icing that comes with the Cinnamon Buns. Thoroughly whisk it together and evenly pour it over the entire dish.

If you can bear to wait, let the dish sit for a few minutes so that the icing can soak into all the little cracks and grooves.

How gorgeous does this dish look?

I would never in a million years guess that this was a can of Pillsbury Cinnamon buns. The flavour of this dish is unreal, and I guarantee you will be going back for seconds.

Enjoy!
