SpOoOoktacular Cheese Platter & Drinks
I LOVE Halloween, doesn't everyone? And I love having spooky beverages and treats the whole month of October. Hosting a haunted dinner party? Here are some fun ideas that will make your guest scream with delight!
I love a good cheese platter doesn't everyone? One of my favorite cheese starters is a baked brie with apple and honey.
I like using the crescent rolls and laying them in a star pattern.
Add brie cheese and diced apples and honey.
Then wrap that up into a little ball.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes for at 400 degrees.
Slice and enjoy that yummy goodness.
Pair the baked brie with a rat infested cheese platter! Rat infested?!?! Well YES! This is a screamtastic dish after all, is it not? I got these skeleton rats form the Dollar Tree and fed them a cube of cheddar each!
The secret to a fabulous cheese platter is color. There has to be some white cheddar and crackers that you know everyone likes, but then you can get a little funkier. My all time favorite "colorful" cheese is blueberry soft goat cheese. In addition to various crackers, I always like to add sliced apples, you know, keep it hearlthy, also good for color. Add some salami and dried fruit and you got a delight for the taste buds and the eyes.
Finally, we need a drink to enjoy! Mix 1 shot of vodka, apple cider and club soda in a funky glass (I happened to have one in the shape of a skull). I like the giant ice cube balls for this. Garnish with sliced apple and cinnamon sticks.
Now here is the fun part, I got a tea smoker to make the spooky look! I put the end of the smoker into this large dome with the drink and light the tea.
