This tropical Pineapple Banana Smoothie is super refreshing and easy to make. All you need is 4 ingredients and 5 minutes!
I am super into smoothies right now and I wanted something tropical but easy to make- enter this pineapple banana smoothie! It's so refreshing and delicious, the frozen pineapple and banana make it extra creamy.
All you need is 4 ingredients and 5 minutes to make this smoothie!
If you are a huge smoothie lover like me and like to try new recipes, you must try my strawberry mango banana smoothie and my peach banana smoothie!
This recipe is only 4 ingredients-
- pineapple- you can use fresh or frozen. I prefer frozen because it makes my smoothie extra creamy and I don't have to cut up a pineapple lol! If you buy fresh pineapple, toss it in the freezer before using it.
- banana- I always keep extra bananas in the freezer specifically for smoothies.
- yogurt- I use vanilla greek yogurt in my smoothie but really any yogurt will work great here. Extra points for a pineapple or banana flavored yogurt
- milk- I use almond milk but you can use any milk you'd like!
Step 1: Add pineapple, banana, and yogurt to a blender. If using protein powder, add that as well. Add the milk, starting with ½ cup.
Step 2: Blend until smooth. Add more milk if needed to thin out your smoothie.
This smoothie makes 1 serving. Double the ingredients to make it 2 servings.
Can I add protein powder?Of course! I would add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to this smoothie. You might need to add an extra splash of milk to make it thinner.
Do I need to use frozen fruit? No, you don't, but I recommend it! It makes your smoothies way creamier and you won't have to use ice! If you prefer fresh fruit, add some ice cubes while blending to give it a good consistency.
- Get yourself a good blender- I use this blender and love it. You don't need a super fancy or expensive blender, just one that will get everything blended together nicely.
- If possible, always use frozen fruit for smoothies. It makes them so much creamier!
- Customize your smoothie- add protein powder, add a veggie like spinach or riced cauliflower, or toss in more sweeteners like honey or maple syrup.
- If your smoothie is too thick, add more milk (or water). If your smoothie gets too thin, I blend in a couple of ice cubes to thicken it back up.
If you are not consuming this smoothie right away, it can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for 2 days. I recommend mixing it up before drinking it.
