I’m a huge fan of fancy coffeeshop drinks and they’re a great treat, but if you buy a venti every day the cost can really start to add up. Luckily, it’s super easy to make your own Starbucks vanilla sweet cream cold foam at home!
It’s just as good as what you’d get at your favorite coffee shop (hey, I was a barista back in college!), but it only costs a few dollars to make a big batch that keeps well all week. That means you can treat yourself to a Friday afternoon pick me up and your bank balance will still come out ahead.

Sweet Cream Cold Foam (starbucks Copycat)- Make it ahead! This recipe will stay fresh for up to five days, so you can make it ahead of time and enjoy it all week long.
- Easy, 3 ingredient recipe. You can make it in minutes with a blender or milk frother.
- Affordable. So you can drink it every day (multiple times!)
Heavy cream. Heavy cream forms the base of the foam. You can also use whipping cream.
Sweetened condensed milk. Canned sweetened condensed milk gives this recipe it’s sweet flavor and helps stabilize the foam so it lasts longer. Look for it in the baking aisle!
Vanilla extract. Starbucks uses vanilla syrup in their cold foam, but I love the rich, luxurious flavor that vanilla extract gives it. Plus it means our cold foam has less sugar!
You’ll also need a glass of your favorite cold brew or iced coffee. You can use this in place of coffee creamer in hot coffee, but it will melt and lose it’s velvety texture. It’s still delicious though!
- Whip together the condensed milk and cream until its thick and frothy. You can do this in a blender, with an immersion blender, or with a handheld milk frother.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Top your favorite coffee with cold foam or refrigerate it to use throughout the week.
- Make sure you start with cold ingredients. This will help them whip up nicely.
- This sweet cream cold foam recipe keeps for a week in the fridge, but it might start to deflate a touch after 3 or 4 days. For the best results, keep store it in a mason jar sand give it a quick shake before using.
- If you like a sweeter coffee, you can add vanilla syrup to your cold brew before adding the sweet cream. I’m obsessed with this 0-calorie vanilla cinnamon syrup, and I can usually grab a bottle at Home Goods for a great price!
- Stir this vanilla cold foam into your hot coffee or spoon it on top for a cappuccino-like effect. It’s also great on hot chocolate!
Unfortunately, this recipe does not freeze well.
This is as close to copycat Starbucks cold foam as you’ll get at home! And if you ask me, it’s even more delicious.
