My bourbon mint iced tea is sweet, smooth, and perfect for parties. It tastes like summer in a glass and feels fancy without much effort.
I love easy summer cocktails like the strawberry daquiri and the tequila sunrise. Another favorite is this bourbon mint iced tea. Think of it as a mashup between sweet tea and mint juleps! I like to make the drink in a large pitcher and let guests add as little (or as much) alcohol as they want!
- Flavorful Not Bitter: A quick steep prevents this.
- Hit Your Mint: This releases its oil and makes the flavor stronger.
- Black Tea: I used Lipton family size tea bags. A flavored tea like peach should also be yummy.
- Mint: Look for bright green mint. Avoid any with yellowing steps or brown spots.
- Bourbon: I used Jim Beam. Wild Turkey is also good. Maker's Mark is a good splurge.
- Make Tea Ice Cubes: This avoids a watered down drink.
- Bruise Your Mint: I like to clap it between my hands. You can also use a cocktail muddler or even a meat mallet. Stop once you smell it.
