Hello can I ask re the cup of suger ..it states 1 5/8 ..apologies for sounding dim but how do you work out 5/8 in a cup..im used to ounces, lbs and grammes etc. Does the cup come in set sizes and it is one 5/8 isnt it and not 15/8. Im in the UK so not used to working in cups.

  You could do second cup of sugar and use 1/8 teaspoon abd take out 3 8ths

  Please don't feel dim! I am used to cups etc. and have never seen a recipe written like that. It would be 1 and a 1/2 cups plus 2 US tablespoons of sugar and then the cocoa would be 1/4 cup plus 2 US tablespoons. I hope this helps clear things up a little for you.

  4/8 is the same as 1/2. Try using a 1/2 cup plus a level tablespoon or 2.

  A cup is 8 ounces. So 5/8 would be 5 ounces.

  So measure out 1/2 Cup plus 1/8 Cup.

  5/8 is just a little over a 1/2 C(4/8 is one half a cup). If that's any help.

  The sugar amount is forgiving in a recipe like this. Use a one cup and a half cup measure and add another spoon or so of sugar. I would likely go with a cup and a half as I like things a little less sweet.😊

  5/8=10/16 there are 16 tbl in a cup so you can measure out 10 tbl or use 8tbl is 1/2 cup plus 2 tbl

  This is an easier way to get five eighths of a cup. Four eights is the same as half a cup so it's just the one eights you need to figure out. I have a one eighth measuring cup but if you don't remember that there are 16 tablespoons in a cup. That means there are 2 tablespoons in one eighth of a cup.
  
  I'm not sure how much difference 2 tablespoons of sugar will make in a recipe with so much sugar already in it but I'll find out soon enough. I'm hoping to try this recipe out. It looks sinfully delicious! ;-)
