A beautifully arranged sharing board is the ultimate starter for entertaining or a relaxed meal with friends. This Italian-inspired board combines three types of cured meats — salty, savory, and slightly sweet — with two varieties of olives for a briny pop. Creamy mozzarella balls paired with tangy sundried tomatoes add richness and a burst of flavor, while optional fresh basil, nuts, or crusty bread bring texture and color. It’s effortless to assemble, visually stunning, and encourages grazing and conversation. Perfect for a casual evening or as the first course of a celebratory dinner, this board is all about flavor, variety, and enjoyment.

Ingredients

  • Cured meats (choose 3 types):
  • Prosciutto
  • Salami (e.g., Milano or Napoli)
  • Bresaola or coppa
  • Olives (2 types):
  • Kalamata olives
  • Green Castelvetrano olives (or another favorite)
  • cup mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • ½ cup sundried tomatoes, drained (oil-packed or rehydrated)
  • Optional extras: fresh basil leaves, crusty bread or breadsticks, extra-virgin olive oil, balsamic glaze, nuts (almonds or walnuts)
Instructions

Arrange the cured meats on a large wooden board or platter, folding slices or fanning them out for visual appeal.
Place olives in small bowls and position them on the board.
In another small bowl, combine mozzarella balls and sundried tomatoes. Drizzle lightly with olive oil if desired.
Scatter optional fresh basil, nuts, or bread around the board for color and texture.
Serve immediately, letting everyone help themselves.
Tips
  • Choose a variety of flavors and textures: one salty, one spicy, one mild meat works well.
  • Add pickled vegetables or roasted peppers for extra color and tang.
  • For a Mediterranean twist, include thin slices of fennel or a few artichoke hearts.
