This raspberry mule is a quick, red cocktail that brings the holiday season to life! It’s the perfect cocktail for any festive gathering, and my guests always ask for the recipe.
Easy but fancy: Ruby-red raspberries and mint make it look like a mixologist prepared it.
Versatile: Use cranberry juice, add blueberries, or turn it into a mocktail.
Super quick: Ready in 5 minutes, great for a spontaneous gathering.
Sweet and tart: Maple syrup balances out the lime juice’s tartness and spicy ginger beer.
You only need a few simple ingredients to prep this sweet-and-tart fruity cocktail! Scroll to the end of the post for the full recipe card with ingredient amounts.
- Raspberries: Use frozen raspberries (thawed) if fresh ones aren’t available.
- Vodka: It's the drink's base. I love Grey Goose, but you can use any brand or raspberry-flavored vodka.
- Lime juice: Freshly squeezed is best. Lemon juice works as a substitute.
- Maple syrup: Adds a bit of cozy, smoky sweetness. Simple syrup works too.
- Ginger beer: It delivers boldness and spicy ginger beer fizz. In my opinion, Fever Tree has the best ginger beer, but use your favorite. Diet ginger beer is a good swap.
- Ice cubes: Keep the drink nice and cold.
- Mint: Adds a fresh, cooling garnish. Avoid yellowing mint leaves to prevent a bitter drink.
- Lime slices: Lemon wedges are a great alternative.

This fizzy cocktail recipe with hints of lime, maple, and mint comes together in only 5 steps! Muddle, mix, and pour. That's it. Here’s the full recipe:
1. Step 1: Muddle fresh raspberries with lime juice and maple syrup.
2. Step 2: Stir in vodka until combined.
3. Step 3: Fill mugs with ice, add raspberry mix, top with ginger beer. Garnish with mint, raspberries, and lime. Serve immediately.
Here are some great ideas to switch up this raspberry Moscow mule at your next winter party and keep your guests excited about possible flavor combinations:
Make it a mocktail: Skip the vodka. Use ginger ale, ginger-flavored soda, or sparkling water instead for a non-alcoholic version.
More raspberry flavor: Purée 3 raspberries, strain them, and add the fresh raspberry puree to the glass for a fruitier flavor.
Go berry crazy: Muddle in 1-2 blackberries, strawberries, or blueberries with raspberries for an easy variation.
Swap the lime juice: Use lemon or orange juice as substitutes for lime juice, or cranberry or pomegranate juice to enhance the drink’s redness.
Try other herbs: Use fresh basil or a sprig of thyme, or rosemary instead of mint for a different kind of fresh herbiness and aroma.
Get ready for this stir-and-pour raspberry Moscow mule cocktail to be the center of attention at any gathering! Here are our favorite ways to enjoy this delicious, icy drink:
- Pair with a cheese board, charcuterie board, or dips like my Easy Corn Black Bean and Feta Dip.
- Enjoy while snacking on Mexican Street Corn Guacamole or Mango Pineapple Habanero Salsa with corn chips.
- Sip alongside Banana Mini Muffins With Chocolate Chip, 3 Ingredient Pumpkin Muffins, or Pumpkin Cake with Cake Mix for a sweet holiday treat.
- Serve with Caramel Apple Pretzel Bites or Cake Batter Puppy Chow for a crunchy dessert table.
This classic mule cocktail with fresh raspberry flavor is best served fresh, but you can prep parts of it ahead for your next party.
Refrigerator
Refrigerate leftover raspberry-vodka mixture (without ginger beer) in an airtight container or mason jar for up to 2 days. Add ginger beer just before serving to preserve the fizz. Keep the mint and lime wedges in the fridge for up to 3 days.
With the help of these tips, you'll have everyone believing you're a pro mixologist even if you've never used a cocktail mixing glass before:
Keep it cold: Store ginger beer, vodka, and chilled copper mugs in the fridge until right before serving for a classic cocktail without extra ice.
Set an ice bucket: Ice dilutes flavor, so set out an ice bucket for everyone to fill their own mug with ice when they're ready for a drink.
Don't purée the raspberries: Gently mash the raspberries to release their juices without making the drink cloudy.
Adjust sweetness: Taste the mixture and add more maple syrup for a sweeter sip, or add a splash of ginger beer to reduce sweetness if you already added the maple syrup.
Add a rim: Place lime juice and salt in separate plates. Dip the rims of the copper mugs in lime juice and then lightly press them into salt to create a rim. Set aside to air dry for 5 minutes before pouring the cocktail in.
